Acoustic Research AWD210… availability imminent
Posted by mtc on 9 September, 2007
Acoustic Research (a division of Audiovox) has recently updated their website to include the AWD210 headphone that Alive Matters mentioned last month. Having listened to these bad-boys not long ago, I can say that the audio quality is actually pretty amazing. Personally, I’d prefer a pair that had a USB transmitter since all my music is on my computer. But for most people, particulary those who know and trust AR, the analog in audio sender will be more appealing.
Alive Matters has also identified a few sites who are taking advanced orders for the AWD210. They are a bit random, but likely tied to a wholesaler that Audiovox works with.
Ambient Weather @ $117.49
Trio Computers @ $117.99

I tried these guys out and wasn’t totally happy with them. Sound quality is great, but you have to charge both the headphones and the sender separately (only one adapter), so it can be hard to keep them both ready-for-use. I’d really like the sender to be charging all the time (preferably via USB), and just be able to drop the headphones into a charger.

I tried them. The sound quality is awesome. I think the concept of 2.1 headphones really makes sense, just like stereo systems. I don’t know how low the bass frequency can go, but definitely the headphones sound better than Bose’s. The wireless range is good too.

It is right on that obtaining proven material on this matter can be troublesome.

After trying wireless headsets made by Philips, Sony and Senhiser that were all unreliable and had far too much static to be useful the Acoustic Research AWD210 sounds great. You don’t to find any headphone anywhere, this is the best!
